Selection
The
Australian Match Rifle Team is selected by the National Rifle Association of
Australia to represent Australia in international competitions such as the
Woomera Match against Great Britain. The previous Australian Team was selected in
2006 and undertook a four week tour of Great Britain competing in individual and
team events at Blair Atholl in Scotland, Cambridge and Bisley.
The
next Australian Team will be selected to take on the touring Great Britain side
for the Woomera Trophy in 2010. The NRAA calls for nominations for the Team
12-18 months ahead of the event through advertisement in the Australian
Target Rifle Magazine. If selected, team members will undertake regular training
events at selected locations within Australia. The next Woomera Match is to be
held at the Belmont Range in Brisbane in 2010.
